| | "Sherman's Store, Caroga Lake, N.Y." (DG) This divided back card which must date from 1907 or later is somewhat erroneously identified as "Sherman's Store." The original structure had been built by Frank Sherman in 1894. He used it as a grocery store, post office, and residence. But in May 1904, he leased this building to George Fort who converted it into a popular hotel which operated until it burnt in 1936. |
